As your organization works to stay top of mind for supporters and the media, you may be feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of public relations, pitches and press releases. You think to yourself:
- What grabs a reporter's attention?
- How can I increase the chances of my event being covered?
- Who's the best person to contact at media outlets when my organization has news?
Take advantage of the training presented by Zan Dubin Scott, Paul West and Scott Martelle (our journalism and communications experts) -- a special "Public Relations 202" (a follow-up to our PR 101 Writing Basics call on August 18) presentation where our panel addressed the following areas:
- Understanding how to think like a journalist
- Tips for getting your story in the right hands at the right outlets
- Setting expectations for media placements
- YOUR questions - Our panel spent much of the call answering participants' public relations outreach questions
Our experts know the ins and outs of media coverage; they explain why those assigning editors never called you back and why the sure-hit event you planned drew no free media.
